Departments

The General Surgery Service offers comprehensive surgical care for thyroid disease, breast disease, and digestive diseases. The services also include diagnostic and therapeutic flexible access laparoscopic surgery. Specialty services include surgical treatment of hyperthyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, thyroid and parathyroid malignancy, breast cancer, peptic ulcer disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, pancreatic disease and biliary tract disease, all gastrointestinal tract and hepatobiliary malignancies.

Services

General surgery covers the following areas:

  1. Gallbladder:
    Gallstone with acute or chronic cholecystitis, polyp, cancer, and fistula, etc. Laparoscopic or mini-laparotomy cholecystectomy is available.
  2. Common bile duct:
    CBS stones with cholangitis, intrahepatic stones, biliary stricture, and variant congenital biliary abnormalities.
  3. Pancreas:
    Acute/Chronic pancreatitis and its associated complication (pseudocyst, abscess, fistula), benign or malignant tumor, and ampulla vater lesion, etc.
  4. Thyroid and Parathyroid disease:
    Thyroid hyperactivity, Thyroid benign and malignant tumors, parathyroid hyperactivity and parathyroid tumors.
  5. Breast disease:
    Benign and malignant breast tumors.
  6. Hernia disease:
    Adult inguinal hernia, postoperative hernia.
  7. Gastrointestinal disease:
    Abdominal and gastrointestinal injury, gastric and duodenal ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, peritonitis, benign and malignant gastrointestinal tumors, intestinal obstruction, abdominal tumors and appendicitis.
  8. Splenic lesion:
    Splenic tumor, primary and secondary splenic diseases.
  9. Laparoscopic diagnosis and treatment:
    Diagnosis and treatment of various abdominal tumors and ascites, Laparoscopic surgery for inguinal hernia, appendicitis, peritonitis, peptic ulcer, acute abdomen and abdominal injury.
